This weekend sees the first of three showcase events of the EFL season, as Sunderland take on Wycombe Wanderers in the League One Play Off Final at Wembley. Two more promotion deciders will take place next week. Mansfield and Port Vale will face off in the League Two Final, whereas Nottingham Forest and Huddersfield will battle the Championship Play Off Final for a place in the Premier League in what is often dubbed ‘the most valuable game in football’. The end is finally in sight. Grassroots football will restart from March 29th and 10,000 will be allowed into stadiums from May 17th with the prospect of full capacities from June 21st, just in time for England’s Euro 2020 clash with Czech Republic at Wembley. With most of us deprived of live sport for the best part of the year, we will be so glad to get back that even the prospect of the proverbial Tuesday night in Stoke seems appealing.
